I wonder if my mate Max (see post “Going down the shitter…” posted a few days ago) had this in mind when he stated that the only way South Africa could cleanse itself of its colonialist past was through violence.
In the past week two Ethiopian brothers who run a spaza shop in the townships were locked inside it by “the mob” whereupon it was set on fire. It burnt for almost an hour before they were set free. Both suffered third degree burns with one eventually succumbing to his wounds.
During the genocide in Rwanda victims were often locked in their own homes and burnt alive. Just recently the Islamic State locked one of its hostages in a cage, doused him in petrol and set him on fire – and made a video of his grisly death.
Thankfully South Africa is not on a genocidal knife-edge and the Islamic State does not have Table Mountain in its sights (yet), but one should question the level of depravity that is seemingly etched into the social fabric of the “rainbow” nation and that is increasingly aimed at foreign nationals who have come from lands ravaged by war and bloodshed to seek better lives.
No 1’s (President Jay Zee) son’s informed opinion is as follows:”We need to be aware that, as a country, we are sitting on a ticking time bomb of them [foreigners] taking over the country. We can't rule out the possibility of a coup in the future."
This is certainly an interesting viewpoint given that South Africa’s National “Intelligence” unit is also investigating claims that Public Protector Thuli Madonsela , former DA parliamentary leader Lindiwe Mazibuko, EFF leader Julius Malema and Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union leader Joseph Mathunjwa may be spying on behalf of the US's Central Intelligence Agency.
Better get the ox wagons into that kraal formation, because not only are foreigners invading from the north, but the world’s most powerful spy agency has recruited some heavy hitters locally to bring down the Zuma regime (sorry government).
You think I made that last bit up don’t you? It’s so ridiculous that it couldn’t be true but in South Africa anything is possible – and yes, David Mahlobo the State Security Minister is taking these claims – made on an online blog https://africainteligenceleaks.wordpress.com - seriously. Note the spelling of the word “intelligence” – that should be all David needs to know!
What therefore can we take from today’s offering?
- The mob is as bigoted and racist as any apartheid stooge and is able to heap the sort of pain and misery on their fellow man that would make Eugene de Kock (apartheid’s most effective killer and assassin) proud
- Edward (No 1’s son) has had a lobotomy
- David has also had a lobotomy
